🎯MAKEUPπŸ’„AND SKINCAREπŸ§–πŸ½‍♂️

Having a healthy skin is an amazing feature for anyone, it is noted that if we focus on skincare and use well-formulated skincare products for our skin type in our daily routine, you will need less makeup to look your best. Makeup application gives out a better defined look on a healthy skin.

Generally, Makeup helps in covering blemishes but it could build up skin irritations overtime especially if you have a sensitive or problematic skin. The best way to beat this is to have an effective skincare routine.

🎯THE RIGHT SKINCARE ROUTINE FOR ME

Most Men breeze in and out of the shower room, then throw on their clothes and in less than five minutes they’re dressed, y’all know women could take all the time they need because we always have to keep the skin popping and so should you.

Here are some quick ways to Maintain your masculine charm😁😁

πŸ“ŒMY SHOWER TIME

Your shower time is best with warm or cool water. This relaxes your body and keeps you quite active for your daily activities. It also helps to retain your skin’s natural oils. It is best to pat your face dry with your hands instead of using a towel, this helps the face to absorb enough moisture. Bathing in Hot water for longer periods is not best for your skin. It causes dryness and makes the skin scaly or ashy because the natural oils of your skin is stripped off. If you must use hot water, make it a duration of 5 minutes maximum.

πŸ“ŒMY BATHING SOAP OR MY CLEANSER

Soaps are made from fatty acids and when used on the face can remove natural oils from the skin that forms a moisture barrier. Soaps also contain thickeners that clog pores and causes acne. This is the reason why Cleansers are dermatologically recommended. Cleansers help to remove makeup, microbes, dead skin cells, sweat and other skin pollutants. This helps to prevent skin irritation, pores clogs and filth accumulation on the skin. Cleanser is the very first step of a skincare routine, many cleansers contain moisturizers to prevent skin dryness. Avoid cleansers that contain alcohol to prevent skin irritation.

People with sensitive skin should find cleansers that are pH-balanced, this is suitable for variating skin types.

πŸ“ŒMY SHAVING CULTURE

No one wants a bump irritation after shaving, it is quite uncomfortable and unattractive. These shaving bumps are caused by irritated hair follicles and irritations could be worse when the stubble isn’t soft enough before a shave. The hair follicle is an opening on the skin where hair grows out from. The stubble are short, stiff hairs growing on a part of the body that hasn’t been shaved for a while, especially on a man’s face.

To obtain a clean shave, it’s best to shave during shower time, this softens the stubble and also make use of moisturizing shaving cream. Use a shaving stick that contains a single or double blades. The shaving cream reduces friction between the blade and your face. It is advisable to shave along your hair pattern and not against. Please avoid products that contain alcohol because they irritate the skin.

πŸ“ŒEXFOLIATING

This is my favorite part of my skincare routine. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells that are clogging your pores. It leaves the skin mild and soft like that of a new born. Exfoliating is best after using the cleanser. Apply and massage gently on your face and wash off with lukewarm water. Exfoliating is said to help and prep skincare products to work faster because the products are absolutely absorbed easily into your skin. For sensitive skin, have a patch test of an exfoliation sample on small section of your skin to ensure you don’t have a reaction.

πŸ“ŒTHE TONER

The toner is essential during your skincare routine. It helps to calm and protect the skin. It regulates the pH balance of your skin. For sensitive skin, toner that contains salicylic acid helps to treat acne. Apply toner on a cotton ball, gently apply on your face and neck area.

πŸ“ŒTHE MOISTURIZER OR HYDRATING SERUM

The moisturizer or hydrating serum is applied on the skin when the skin is a little damp from the toner. This leaves your skin hydrated and free from dryness. Keeps your skin glowing and gives it a radiant looking complexion. It is helpful to use a moisturizer or petroleum jelly for thick soles and cracked feet especially during the harmattan.

Use eye cream, this moisturizer helps to treat thin-skinned area of the eye where fine lines or wrinkles are likely to appear. Use products that contain Retinoids and Glycolic acid which are famous for cell growth. They help new skin cells to the surface and further prevents wrinkles and treats hyperpigmentation.

πŸ“ŒSUNSCREEN

The UV rays of the sun penetrates the skin and could cause wrinkles, aging, sun burns even worse, skin cancer. The best way to protect the skin is to use sunscreen that is rated SPF 30 or higher. The sunburn starts from 10am to 4pm especially during the summer. Clothing may not be enough. Sunlight penetrates fabrics. It is advisable to use sunscreen beneath your clothing. Cotton and linen fabrics keeps your skin in better shape.

This skincare routine is best effective before bed, this enables the skin to effectively absorb these amazing products for a healthy outlook.

🎯HOW DO I CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY SKINπŸ₯°??

πŸ“Quit smoking. Smoking ages the skin quickly. It decreases collagen production and makes the skin look pale.

πŸ“Don’t overdo sugar. High sugar diets causes inflammation which can lead to breakouts. Reduce cake, cookies, soda intake, ingest more of healthy foods like; fruits, Greek yoghurt, cereals.

πŸ“Get enough sleep. Try to have at least 7-8 hours of sleep. This helps the skin to revitalize from a day’s hectic activities. Your body needs Consistent sleep to look its best.

πŸ“Have a good workout routine. It helps to keep the body fit and in shape and burns out unhealthy calories.

πŸ“Use a humidifier at home or workplace or in your cars. Humidifiers pumps moisture into the air and helps to fight off dry skin.

πŸ“Always check labels of skincare products. Keep an eye for “noncomedogenic” formula, this does not encourage acne. Also look for alcohol-free products, this means that they will not dry you out. Match each product to your skin type and endeavor to check for expiry dates of some skincare products on the counters.
